Information for Sellers: If you’re a seller based in the EU, you need to understand the requirements of GDPR and take steps to ensure you comply. Additionally, you may need to make some changes in how you communicate with buyers and how you process any personal information that you collect. If you’re a seller based outside of the EU but make your items available to EU buyers, you also need to understand and comply with GDPR. If you don’t sell to buyers based in the EU, then no action is required. Keep in mind that the penalties for non-compliance with GDPR can be significant—according to EU rules this can be up to €20m or 4% of annual global turnover, whichever is greater. Under the new law, EU residents can also initiate class-action lawsuits related to the protection and usage of their personal information, so it’s important that you understand and comply with the rules. You’ll find everything you need to know about GDPR and the steps you need to take in how you collect and process any personal information at the EU’s official GDPR website. |

What are the delivery options?
You can find a seller’s postage rates in the Postage section of every listing. We always show the postage cost separately to the item cost to make clear exactly how much you’re paying for delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
To learn more about the seller’s postage options, select See details next to where the postage cost is shown in the listing. You’ll see any express delivery services or combined postage discounts, and whether tracking is available. Alternatively, scroll down and select the Postage and payments tab.
Where is my order?
You can view the status of your order in your account. Go to ‘My Account’, login with your username and password and click on ‘My orders’
How do I know the item being sold is genuine?
We don’t allow counterfeit items or unauthorised copies to be listed on iKart.
Items that bear a company’s official brand name or logo can be listed, as long as the products were lawfully made by, for, or with the consent of that company.
Unauthorised copies may include items that are bootlegged, illegally duplicated, or pirated. These items may infringe on someone’s copyright or trademark.
If you believe you have been sold a counterfeit item you can contact us to raise your concerns.
Can I cancel a bid I’ve made?
Whenever you place a bid, you’re agreeing to buy the item if you win the auction. However, in some situations you can retract your bid.
You can retract a bid if:
- The seller significantly changed the description of the item
- You accidentally bid the wrong amount. For example, you meant to bid £20, not £200. In this case, enter the price you intended to bid as soon as you’ve retracted the incorrect bid
- You can’t reach the seller. For example, you sent the seller an email and it comes back undeliverable, or you tried calling the seller and the phone number doesn’t work
If you’re not able to retract your bid, you can also try contacting the seller to see if they’ll cancel your bid for you.
Can I return/exchange an Item?
If your item arrives damaged, doesn’t match the listing description, or is the wrong item, you can return it for a refund. If you’ve changed your mind and want to send it back, you can ask the seller if they’ll accept a return.
Can I pay with PayPal?
We accept the following methods of payment:
Visa Debit/Credit
Master Card
American Express
PayPal
I haven’t received my order
If you don’t receive an item, you’re entitled to a refund unless the seller’s tracking information shows that it was delivered.
I’ve received the wrong item
If your item arrives damaged, doesn’t match the listing description, or is the wrong item, you can return it for a refund. If you’ve changed your mind and want to send it back, you can ask the seller if they’ll accept a return.
Selling
What is the fee to sell an item on iKart?
When your item sells, you pay 10% of the final transaction value, including postage. We call this a final value fee. We cap final value fees so you’ll never pay more than £250 for a single item.
If your item doesn’t sell you usually don’t pay a final value fee. However, if you offer or reference your contact information to another user or ask a buyer for their contact information, in the context of buying or selling outside of eBay, we charge a final value fee for introducing you to the buyer. In this case, the final value fee is based on the higher of the fixed price, auction start price, Buy it now price, reserve price or the price identified between the buyer and seller.
How do I list an item?
When listing your item, start by describing what you’re selling. You can add photos, select the brand and physical details about the item, choose whether to use the auction or fixed price format, and set a price.
Finally select which shipping options will be available to the buyer, a return policy, and how you want to get paid.
We also recommend that you get to know our rules for sellers, our policies on prohibited and restricted items, and what’s allowed and not allowed when listing and completing a sale.
My item isn’t selling, how can I improve chances of selling?
- Write a clear and concise title with correct spelling and no more than 80 characters
- Add an accurate description, using product details from the eBay catalog wherever you can
- Use high-quality photos, taken from every angle, and show any flaws or scratches.
- Add item specifics, such as make, model, size, colour and style
- Include postage and handling costs, accepted payment methods, and your return policy
What are my items worth?
It can be difficult to know how much to charge for an item and this is why auctions work so well. If you aren’t sure what price to list your items at try thinking about:
- What other sellers are charging for similar items
- How much the item is worth new and mark it down
- Consider postage and packaging costs for shipping the item to the buyer
- Consider adding a reserve to your item.
How do I edit/remove my listing?
For most listings on iKart, you can edit a listing title, add or change photos, and add optional listing upgrades at any time.
If you end a listing early, it risks disappointing potential buyers, so we strongly discourage all our sellers from doing so. However, we understand that there are times when it might be necessary to end a listing early. Some valid reasons include:
- The item is lost, broken, or no longer available.
- You made a mistake, such as listing the wrong starting price in an auction.
